Boeing's newest airline 737 Max 8 has been grounded because of Boeing's flaw. Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines had crashed which both of them used the Boeing 737 Max 8. The reason behind this is because they wanted to compete against their rival which is Airbus. Airbus made a more fuel efficient plane called the A320neo. Boeing wanted to make their 737-800's more fuel efficient so they created the same models of the plane but they raised the engine slightly above the wing. This was the problem when this aircraft was climbing it would go into a stall because of the weight of the engine. Next Boeing created MCAS which is Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System. This would automatically stabilize the flight whether or not in stall mode. Boeing only provided 2 hour training for all of their pilots for the 737 Max 8 on an iPad and this was optional to train or not. Many pilots didn't train because it was optional and Boeing said it is just like the 737-800. On Lion Air the captain was fighting the aircraft because when they were climbing the nose would come down so there would be a lot of changes in altitude. After 12 minutes into the flight Lion Air flight 610 plummeted down into the Java Sea and crashed which killed 189 passengers. These pilots did not get training because of Boeing saying its the same way you fly this aircraft; like a 737-8. There is one switch off button which was not in the flight manual. So these pilots didn't know about this. For Ethiopian Airlines though the pilots did take training and switch of MCAS but it was too late because the nose was pointing steep down which you can not recover from in a flight. This is what happened on these flights. I hope you guys enjoyed this article!!

Incredible insight on a very complex problem for the public.
